An Oral History of African American Seniors Seeking Housing, Health, and Climate Justice in the Gulf Coast After Hurricane Harvey.
This oral history study reveals stakeholder recovery needs through qualitative interviews with African American seniors aging-in-place after Hurricane Harvey. The seniors described their experiences in the years following Hurricane Harvey which included extreme weather events, power grid failure, flooding, and compromised air quality. The study was conducted through the lens of environmental justice with special attention to climate impacts on displacement in the built environment.
