Dr. Robert D. Bullard, founder and director of the Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice, will join the Center for Climate and Environmental Justice Media (CEJM) to answer the pressing question of What does it take to build stronger, more just communities in the face of climate changes?
Hosted at UMass Boston on September 17-18, 2025, CEJM will present “Bridging Communities with Hope: An Environmental Justice Conference for All”. The two-day event is set to feature keynote presentations, expert panels and breakout sessions surrounding the pressing topic of climate and environmental justice. Attendees will gain insight on ways to build partnerships and gain inspiration on environmental justice strategies.
Following opening remarks, Dr. Bullard will participate in a fireside chat hosted by Stephen Curwood, Executive Producer and Host of Living on Earth. The conference will also feature a case study on Shiloh, Alabama, a community devastated by flooding linked to the construction of a U.S. highway system.
