Intergenerational Justice Gala

The Bullard Center for Environmental and Climate Justice at Texas Southern University was created to ensure that this work didn’t end with one man, but instead continue to be a powerful, institutional force for justice. Today, the Center is training the next generation of environmental and climate leaders, supporting frontline communities with research and policy tools, and shifting the national narrative on environmental racism and health equity.

And now, we are preparing for a milestone moment: our first-ever gala, “Ember to Flames…Inspiring Intergenerational Justice” on April 25, 2026.

Your support directly fuels three of the Bullard Center’s central pillars:

  1. Strengthening Community-Based Organizations’ Capacity
    We provide data, research, and advocacy support to frontline groups fighting petrochemical expansion, toxic exposure, unsafe infrastructure, and climate threats. These partnerships save lives.
  2. Training the Next Generation of Environmental and Climate Justice Leaders
    Through fellowships, coursework, internships, and hands-on mentorship, we prepare Black and Brown students to become the scientists, policy leaders, lawyers, and advocates who will carry this movement forward.
  3. Driving Research and Policy Change
    From exposing the concentration of toxic facilities in vulnerable communities to shaping state and federal policy action, the Bullard Center continues to produce research that enhances public understanding and strengthens protections.
